What is Hydroponics?

Hydroponics is growing plants without the use of soil, but by using an inert medium, such as gravel, sand, peat, vermiculite, pumice or sawdust and adding a natural ingredient nutrient solution containing all the essential elements needed by the plant for its normal growth and development.

The plants are grown in a hydro stacker. Each stacker has the ability to grow 20 plants, thereby using less land and water and is environmentally safe.

Unlike traditional farming, by growing hydroponically we are able to offer most crops year round.

Lancaster’s Hydro Farm supports local farming practices that are healthy and environmentally safe, giving the Produce Club members the opportunity to enjoy the freshest, most nutritional produce available.
